Robert Glasper Experiment released their first album “Black Radio” in 2012: a hugely successful album rewarded with a Grammy as “Best R&B Album”. Following this, Robert Glasper Experiment released a second album titled “Black Radio 2” with guests such as Lupe Fiasco, Common, Dwele, Emeli Sande, Faith Evans and many more – which Robert described as “a little bit different – I didn’t want to make the same record twice. I wanted to make a conscious effort to keep the vibe and the spirit of the first one without it sounding the same.”

To celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Blue Note Records, Robert Glasper Experiment performed at La Gaîte Lyriquée in Paris in November. We caught up with the band members Robert Glasper, Casey Benjamin, Burniss Travis and Mark Colenburg before their gig to talk history, music, their favourite Blue Note records, how they play off each other, J Dilla and sound. We hope you like it.
